Initial problem
Receiving the brief
Centaur Robotics is a tech start-up focussing on the future of mobility chairs, founded by ex Ford employees and industry leaders in robotics.
What are they looking to achieve?
- A website where they can display their product to gain investment
- A demonstration of what the Centaur Chair can do
- A modern style that aligns themselves with big tech companies
- Prebuild Ecommerce ready to go when they have product to sell
What are the pain points?
- They currently only have a partially built prototype
- They only have a 3D model that looks finished

Market research
What’s similar?
The market place is flooded with very old fashioned looking mobility devices, all four wheels, large turning circles, large, not aesthetically pleasing.
Key takeaways
- Big and bulky
- Immediately looks like a piece of mobility equipment
- Associated with old age
What website styles can I consider?
They want to be known for being a high-tech and advanced / cool-to-be-seen-in mobility chair, not associated with old age and difficulities with getting around.
So I need to look at modern product style websites that I can align myself with.
Key takeaways
- Dark Theme
- Big product highlights
- Mentions product specs in a clear way with examples
- Interactivity and moving elements to drive engagement

What needs to be included on the website
I went ran through the list of what they want to achieve on the website and took into consideration the painpoints of their current position in the market.
Develop
Interactivity
Initial Problem
They only have a 3D model of the chair and a basic prototype, the website needs to be engaging as possible because we don’t have many photos to work with / actual real world products.
I need the 3D models to be animated and animations created to show of it’s specifications.

Putting it all together
Now I have my wireframe, design inspiration and animated assets I can finally create high fidelity visuals and code the website.
Here are all pages from the website, click on one to have a closer look, scrub back and forth, pause and play.
